2 Matters Arising

Report by Police Scotland.

Sergeant Robertson, Police Scotland, summarised his report relative to local licensing matters which had taken place since the last meeting of Renfrewshire Licensing Forum on 31 March 2025.

It was noted that Police Scotland had attended 42 incidents and undertaken 91 pro-active inspections at licensed premises within Renfrewshire. Police Licensing Officers continued to deliver “bystander” training, promoted the proxy purchase campaign, “it’ll cost you”, had participated in the Paisley Pub Watch Scheme and regularly inspected unlicensed catering premises which operated beyond 2300 hours.

C Dickson, Licensing Standards Officer, summarised his report relative to licensing activity undertaken since the last meeting of Renfrewshire Licensing Forum on 31 March 2025.

Information was provided in respect of the number of licensed premises in the Renfrewshire area broken down by premises type; provisional licences pending; occasional licences and personal licences. It was noted that some Premises Licence annual fees remained unpaid and that enforcement action had commenced in pursuit of the recovery of these fees.

DECIDED: That the report and verbal update be noted.
5 Health Update
Verbal update by Alcohol Deaths Prevention Lead Officer.

K Nightingale, Alcohol Death Prevention Lead Officer, representing Renfrewshire Alcohol & Drug Partnership, delivered a presentation relative to alcohol specific deaths in Renfrewshire. Statistics were provided which included the number of deaths, age profiles and hospital admissions. An overview of the work undertaken to address and reduce alcohol specific deaths and the support available was also outlined.

DECIDED: That the content of the presentation be noted.
6 Equality Monitoring and Outcomes
Verbal update by Clerk to the Licensing Board.

The Clerk to the Licensing Board delivered a verbal update on the Mainstreaming Equality and Equality Outcomes Report which had been agreed at the meeting of the Renfrewshire Licensing Board on 29 April 2025 and advised of the requirement to publish the progress made on equality outcomes every two years. The Clerk advised Forum Members that this report was available online for their perusal.

DECIDED: That the verbal update be noted.
