There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to consideration of an application for the appointment of a community representative from Johnstone Business Consortium to the Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership. 

DECIDED:  That it be agreed that a community representative from Johnstone Business Consortium be appointed as a Member of the Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership.

Stacey Thomson, Johnstone Business Consortium was invited to join the meeting at this point, and declared an interest in Item 5 of the agenda – Applications for Local Partnership Funding to Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership 2025/26 as she was a member of Johnstone Business Consortium (FR1120) and intimated her intention to take no part in any discussion or voting in respect of this application.
 
Verbal report by Regeneration & Policy Manager.

There was submitted a verbal report by the Regeneration & Policy Manager relative to the Town Centre Regeneration Plan.  Areas highlighted in the presentation included potential improvements to Houstoun Square, Ludovic Square, Houstoun Court, Johnstone Town Hall and the next steps in the process.

The Regeneration & Policy Manager was heard in response to questions from Members.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to the funds allocated by this Local Partnership in 2024/25 and the current budget position.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive, Renfrewshire Council, relative to applications for grant funding which had been put forward for consideration by the
Johnstone & Linwood Local Partnership.  

At the meeting of the Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership held on 6 May 2025 £30,095 was awarded from the budget of £46,344. The remaining budget available for Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership to award for 2025/26 was £16,249.  Applications had been received from the following organisations:-

FR1179 Linwood Community Council Linwood £5,000 
FR1023 Johnstone Castle Learning Centre £5,000 
FR1120 Johnstone Business Consortium          £5,000



DECIDED:

That the following grant application decisions be approved, and the balance of remaining funds totalling £1249 be transferred to the Celebrating Renfrewshire Fund.

FR1023 Johnstone Castle Learning Centre £5,000 
FR1120 Johnstone Business Consortium          £5,000
