Report by the Director of Finance & Resources.
1

There was submitted a report by the Director of Finance & Resources relative to a petition received from Mrs D Asenova in relation to the renovation of Our Lady of Peace School, the terms of which were detailed in the report.

Mrs Asenova was in attendance at the meeting, accompanied by Ms Hughes, and addressed the Board in support of her petition.

The Board heard from the Council’s Head of Education (Learning & Strategy) and the Education Manager (Resources) who summarised his response to the petition which was set out at section 1.5 of the report and detailed a further budget in excess of £100,000 which would be utilised to address the points raised in the petition.

In terms of Standing Order 59, Councillor Burns moved that no action be taken as the further allocated budget would be utilised to address the points raised in the petition. This was agreed unanimously.

During discussion on the petition, it was noted that the Head Teacher would be kept advised of the progress and costs of the works being undertaken and that the Head Teacher would provide updates to the parent council.

DECIDED: That no action be taken as the further budget, in excess of £100,000, would be utilised to address the points raised in the petition.
