Kerry Russell declared an interest in item 3 – Applications for Local Partnership Grant Funding to Renfrew Local Partnership 2024/25 – in respect of applications FR1035, FR1036, FR1129, FR1130 submitted by Renfrew Development Trust as she was a member of that organisation and intimated her intention to take no part in any discussion or voting thereon.

Amanda Reid declared an interest in item 3 – Applications for Local Partnership Grant Funding to Renfrew Local Partnership 2024/25 – in respect of application FR1138 submitted by Renfrew YMCA as she was a member of that organisation and intimated her intention to take no part in any discussion or voting thereon.

2 Appointment of Vice Chair

Councillor Shaw proposed that Kerry Russell (Renfrew Development Trust) be appointed as Vice-chair. There being no other nominations, this appointment was agreed unanimously.

DECIDED: That Kerry Russell be appointed Vice-chair. 
3 Welcome New Members

Councillor Shaw welcomed Stuart Wilde (Renfrew Victoria FC) and Blair Ross (Renfrew Sea Scouts) to their first meeting of Renfrew Local Partnership.

DECIDED: That the welcomed be noted. 
Report by Chief Executive.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to the funds allocated by this Local Partnership in 2023/24 and the current budget position. Feedback received from projects funded during financial year 2023/24 was also appended to the report.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to applications for funding from Renfrew Local Partnership in 2024/25.

The report intimated that the available allocation for the Local Partnership was £125,053 with £350 ringfenced for community representatives’ expenses. It was noted that the total value of applications received for funding was £112,083.67.

The report advised that the Youth Challenge Fund component for 2024/25 amounted to £18,657 and it was noted that this funding would be allocated by young people through a participatory budgeting exercise which had taken place during May and June 2024 with decisions being announced in summer 2024.

6 Future Items for Discussion

Councillor Shaw intimated that he was happy for members to speak to him in relation to considering any Renfrew-related ideas being put on the agenda at future meetings to help shape the Local Partnership. The Clerk advised that she would send out a reminder email prior to the meetings.

It was agreed that contact would be made with projects who had received grant funding midway through the funding year to ascertain how they were progressing. It was further agreed that a spotlight item on organisations within Renfrew would be considered for future agendas.

DECIDED:

(a) That the Clerk would send out a reminder email prior to the meetings in relation to consideration of agenda items;

(b) That it be agreed that contact would be made with projects who had received grant funding midway through the funding year to ascertain how they were progressing; and

(c) That a spotlight item would be considered for future agendas which would focus on an organisation within Renfrew.
