There was submitted a report by the Director of Finance & Resources relative to the number of grievances received.

3
There was submitted a report by the Director of Finance & Resources relative to the number of agency staff employed within the Council as at 1 May 2024 and detailing the capacity and Services in which they were engaged. The report advised that as at 1 May 2024, 176 agency workers were employed across all Council Services, a decrease of 26 agency workers since April 2024. Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership employed 107 of those agency workers.
The HR Manager was heard in answer to questions on the report.
Unison representatives advised that the results from the ballot of Care at Home Staff had closed with 97% of staff having accepted the terms proposed by the Council. It was hoped that this improvement to terms and conditions would encourage staff into this field of work resulting in less agency workers being required and posts becoming easier to be filled on a permanent basis.
The Head of People & Organisational Development thanked the GMB, Unite and UNISON unions for their work with Renfrewshire Council management to reach an agreement on this matter.
DECIDED: That the report and verbal updates be noted.
