Declarations of Interest and Transparency Statements
Members are asked to declare an interest or make a transparency statement in any item(s) on the agenda and to provide a brief explanation of the nature of the interest or the transparency statement.
Diane Booth declared an interest in item 3 – Applications for Local Partnership Grant Funding – in respect of applications FR1160, submitted by Our Place Our Families and application FR1161, submitted by Arkleston and Newmains Over 60s Club as she was a member of both organisations and intimated her intention to not take part in any discussion or voting thereon.

DECIDED: That the Minute as amended be approved.
Report by Chief Executive.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to the applications for Local Partnership grant funding.

The report intimated that the available allocation for Renfrew Local Partnership for 2023/24 was £42,715.82.  Three applications for funding to Renfrew Local Partnership had been received since the meeting held on 17 May 2023. These applications have been received from Our Place Our Families, Arkleston & Newmains Over 60s Club and Renfrew Victoria Youth Football Group.  The applications for grant funding were set out in Appendix 1 and 2.

Following consideration, the Local Partnership agreed:

Declaration of Interest

D Booth having previously declared an interest in applications FR1160 and FR1161 took no part in the discussion or voting thereon.

FR1160  Our Place our Families  -  awarded £9,900
FR1161  Arkleston & Newmains Over 60 Club  -  awarded £5,150
FR1163  Renfrew Victoria Youth Football Club  -  awarded £4,880.70

Councillor Shaw advised that there was an opportunity to refurbish the dog run in Robertson Park; increase the size of the area and include regular maintenance to the ground.  He also intimated that it was intended that there would be a charge to enter this area.  After discussion it was agreed that a further £20,000 would be set aside for the project with Friends of Robertson Park overseeing the programme.

DECIDED

(a)  That it be agreed to award the grant applications as noted above; and

(b)  That it be agreed that £20,000 be set aside to refurbish Robertson Park dog run; increase the size of the area and include regular maintenance to the ground and that Friends of Robertson Park would oversee the project.
4 Celebrating Renfrewshire 2023 Results
Presentation by Chief Executive and Community Learning and Development Team.

J Kennedy, Senior Community Development Officer, Chief Executive’s Services gave a presentation relative to the results for Celebrating Renfrewshire 2023.

The presentation gave background information; identified fund priorities; detailed statistics on the voting platform; outlined organisations who received funding; and highlighted the Celebrating Renfrewshire event.

DECIDED:  That the presentation be noted.
5 Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund
Presentation by Engage Renfrewshire.

A McBride, Wellbeing and Volunteering Senior Development Officer, Engage Renfrewshire gave a presentation relative to an update on the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.

The presentation gave a brief update on the fund; outlined Year 3 of the project; highlighted the timeline, fund guidance and newsletter; and provided information on the exhibition which was to be held in Renfrewshire Town Hall on 5 October 2023.

Members were informed that Engage Renfrewshire had a Network Newsletter which was published and issued monthly to promote funding and training opportunities and advised of network events and news.  Further updates on this fund would be provided at a future meeting of this Local Partnership. 


DECIDED

(a) That the content of the presentation be noted; and

(b) That further updated information be provided to a future meeting of this Local Partnership.
6 Community Learning and Development Team Presentation
- Outcome of Youth and Family Learning Survey
- Upcoming HM Inspectors Progress Visits For Community Learning and Development
- Youth Voice Programme

J Kennedy, Senior Community Development Officer, Chief Executive’s Services gave an update on the Community Learning and Development Team

The presentation updated the Partnership on the Adult Learning survey and the Youth Services Survey; advised of the upcoming HM Inspectors Progress visit for Community Learning & Development Section; detailed the Youth Voice Programme and the Community Capacity Programme.

DECIDED:  That the presentation be noted.
7 Update On Local Partnerships Review
Verbal report by Chief Executive.

S Graham, Partnerships Planning and Development Manager, Chief Executive’s Service provided members with information on how Community and Planning, led by the Partnership and Inequalities team, would reach out to members and those who had received grants to gauge their experience of Local Partnerships to date. Through surveys and discussions, members views on whether Local Partnerships had met theirs aims and objectives, what worked well and what could be improved would be identified.

Further information on the results of these surveys and discussions would be submitted to future meetings of all Local Partnerships.

DECIDED:

(a)  That the information provided be noted; and

(b)  That a further update.be provided and future meetings of the Local Partnership.

Members are asked to note that the next meeting of the Renfrew Local Partnership is scheduled to be held on Wednesday 6 December 2023 at 6.00pm.
