Presentation by young person, Celebrating Renfrewshire Steering Group.

A presentation was made by J Kennedy and A McCracken who provided information on the recruitment session attended by 12 people for the Youth Led Steering Group who had a number of planning session to identify the fund priorities for the Paisley North, West and Central Local Partnership area.  The role of the Celebrating Renfrewshire Youth-led Steering Group was outlined. Twenty nine applications for funding for this area were received with the total of all application amounting to £75,156.41 which was an over subscription of £54.023.11.

Applications for funding required to be submitted between 16 September and 9 October 2022 with local young people having the opportunity to determine which local projects were granted funding.  A total of 353 young people from the Paisley North, West & Central area voted and seven organisations were awarded the full amount. Details of those awards made was as follows:- Pals of the Privies £3,000; Darkwood Crew £3,000; Own Yer Bike £2,991.41; Twist and Hit Cheerleaders £2,920, Right2Dance £2,885; New Tannahill Centre £2,000 and Loud N Proud £1,500.  One organisation, Outspoken Arts received partial funding of £2,836.59.

Presentation by the Chief Executive’s Service, Renfrewshire Council.

S Graham, Chief Executive’s Service, gave a presentation on the Winter Connections Programme, a network of local places where people could connect to others in their community this winter.

The presentation highlighted the purpose of the Winter Connections Fund which would provide assistance to local groups to help cover the additional costs in making venues, activities and sessions available as part of the Winter Connection Programme. The presentation outlined the timeline and next steps for the Programme. 

DECIDED      That the content of the presentation be noted.
 
Presentation by Engage Renfrewshire.

A McBride, Renfrewshire Engage, provided a summary report relative to the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund 2022/23.

The Local Partnership was advised that the Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund was now in its second year and Engage Renfrewshire had been allocated just over £550,000 to distribute to the third sector for new applicants and also previously awarded projects for adults. A brief overview of the aims, key priorities and target audience of the Fund was provided.  It was noted that the deadline for applications was 31 October 2022, that successful groups would be notified in early December with payments made in January 2023 and that the Fund was over-subscribed quite significantly.  

The Convener requested that a copy of the presentation and survey be forwarded to S Graham for distribution to Local Partnership members.

DECIDED: 

(a) That a copy of the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund 2022/23 presentation and associated survey be forwarded to the Partnerships Planning and Development Manager to be circulated to members of the Local Partnership; and

(b) That otherwise the content of the presentation be noted.
 
Presentation by Communities & Housing Services.

L McLean, Youth Services, Communities and Housing Services made a presentation in connection with the Community Learning and Development Approach. Youth Services supported young people and partners to access localised projects, including Young Scot services, in Renfrewshire.

An overview was provided of the main areas of responsibility and the wide range of activities undertaken by Communities Learning & Development Section. Reference was made to the delivery of universal services, targeted provision, community capacity and connected communities initiatives and future partnership working with Local Partnerships. 

DECIDED: That the presentation be noted.
 
Report by Chief Executive's Service, Renfrewshire Council.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to the 2022/23 budget allocated to this Local Partnership. An appendix to the report detailed the distribution of funds.

The report advised that the 2022/23 budget allocated from the General Grant Fund and the Paisley Common Good Fund of £55,702 for this Local Partnership had been awarded to local groups. In addition, £21,133 had been awarded to local youth groups from the Celebrating Renfrewshire Fund.

DECIDED That the report be noted.
