Under reference to item 2 of the Minute of the meeting of this Local Partnership held on 22 June 2021, there was submitted a report by the Chief Executive  2021 relative to the eligibility of applications for Local Partnership funding and options for the application of criteria to assist decision making.  It had been agreed at the previous meeting that this information be included as a standing item on Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership papers

The report indicate that a guidance page was available on the Renfrewshire Council website to applicants to Local Partnerships regarding eligibility and a link to the information was provided in the report).  The guidance sought to ensure that applicants provided the information that Local Partnerships needed to make funding decisions, including alignment with local priorities and how the local community benefited.

The report advised that the key criteria for assessing funding applicants was that the project fitted with the agreed local priorities of each area.  Local Partnerships also had flexibility to determine for themselves a methodology for determining grant allocations.  Examples of this were included in the report.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to the applications for Local Partnership grant funding.

The report intimated that the available allocation for Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership for 2022/23 was £48, 860, which consisted of £47,044 from the General Fund and £1,802 brought forward from 2021/22.

From this total budget a sum of £50 per community representative required to be ringfenced for potential claims of expenses. Since Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership had space for 14 community members a total of £700 required to be ring-fenced for expenses. The total budget available for the Local Partnership therefore was £48,165. The total value of applications to the Local Partnership was £132,414.04. 

The Youth Challenge Fund component of Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership Funding for 2022/23, known as Celebrating Renfrewshire  was £21,697. This funding would be allocated by young people through a Participatory Budgeting exercise that would  take  place  during autumn 2022.

An initial assessment of the applications had been carried out by officers to support Local Partnership members in their decision-making. Applications that made clear reference to the Local Priorities identified by the Local Partnership were identified in the first table in the appendix to the report. Applications that made a partial or no reference to Johnstone and Linwood Local Priorities were summarised in the second table in the appendix.

There was submitted a report by the Chief Executive relative to the provision of funding by the Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership to community groups to undertake projects.

The report advised that the funding was allocated from the General Grant Fund and, through a Participatory Budgeting exercise known as Celebrating Renfrewshire, the Youth Challenge Fund. 

A table setting out the funds allocated by Johnstone and Linwood Local Partnership in 2021/22 and the current funding position was attached to the report.
